Clean white colour with clear/light grey streaks. “From a river near Kaikoura. I think it is argillicious limestone, meaning its origin was limestone before being baked” (From the collector)
This is a fine grained dark grey with very small consistent white specks and the odd bigger black spots.
This type of pakohe / argillite comes from Ohaua bay on the southeast coast of D’Urville island. It is a light blue-grey with fine black veins.
