Pakohe / argillite

A soft swirly light green. From a source just south of Invercargill called the Green Hills.

This is a light grey with white and black spots. It has a courser grain.

This is a medium green with white spots

This is a fine grained medium green. It seems to have a brown fleck.

A dense black with white “lightning” streaks

Clean white colour with clear/light grey streaks. “From a river near Kaikoura. I think it is argillicious limestone, meaning its origin was limestone before being baked” (From the collector)

This is a fine grained dark grey with very small consistent white specks and the odd bigger black spots.

This is a swirly light/darker grey. Fine grain.

This is a soft green/grey with a consistent dark grey fleck.
